Well, I have not and I would like to know your opinion why girls aren't much interested in these stuffs.. Biggrin

I am female, not a hacker, but enthusiastic about programming.
I don't know why others aren't though. I wonder about that too.

Most people think that. I made bad experiences with telling right away that I am not, so I didn't correct anyone refering to me with the wrong pronoun. I don't want to be judged by my gender. I fear that people do and I love that most of the time it doesn't matter on the internet, because people just assume everyone to be male.
However, I love HC and I think the important and respected people here are alright.

My IRL friend circle: Well, my husband is a computer scientist and programmer like me. I have a female friend who also is, but I know her from studying at university, so that's not really a coincidence.
I have several male friends from university too (also computer scientists, not all of them enthusiastic programmers, though)

I didn't know any of them before I started studying. It feels so good to know people that share the same interests.
About half of my friends are computer scientists. The others are artists.
Before studying computer science all of my friends where artists or in the educational field.
