I use 2 different VPNs before i root my traffic threw the Tor Network...(App VMs in Qubes OS) A good option is to set up your own VPN on a VPS server.

No thanks, but how does it feel not being able to circuit switch? One constant tunnel provides a lot less security and leaves you much more vulnerable to MITM attacks and Sybil attacks.

You can install multiple tunnels on one VPS server... However, this is not an either - or decision. If you go for that you should link a second independent VPN provider to fully exploit the potential. If I have to choose then I would also pic a classic OpenVPN solution - totally agree with you

I'm talking about the Tor circuits and how Tor is designed. I can't tell you how many times I have had to explain to clients how Tor actually works.
