Protectors from Terror or Invaders of Privacy?

Enemies of the Internet – Unsafe Jurisdictions by Country and Alliance

In the following years, the agreement was extended to encompass New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. Then fast-forwarding to a few more years, we saw the inclusion of several Nordic Countries, the Philippines, and West Germany – operating on separate mechanisms, as joined entities. These entities go by the names of Five, Nine and Fourteen Eyes Alliances. Now, every netizen in countries part of these alliances are under constant monitoring.

I want to know whats the take of members here about it ?

I feel that not a lot has to do with terrorism. Sure, it may help prevent a little, but this is just a huge infraction for privacy. Can't believe the founding fathers of America didn't think of the possibility that we would willingly allow other countries to spy on it's citizens and brand it as protecting our freedom smh.

You are right. The war on terror has been the very best way to force more control on the masses since 9/11
