I don't think they were meant to cause seizures. My friends have fooled me into clicking one every now and then. Scares the crap out of me.

The thing you need to understand about 4chan, is the site promotes anonymity online, and other then a few rules set by the site admin anyone can freely discuss whatever they want without the threat of being logged or scrutinized. With that being said, the site will obviously attract more cruel people then an average forum or social network, also you need to sympathize with the fact that 4chan is spread out in sections. Each section of the site holds a different meaning/purpose, and the most popular section of the site /b/ which is home to over 70% of all memes origins is also where most of the cruel or unmoral posts are made, that section should not be considered all that the site can offer. The site also offers a unique selection of treads that can be extremely helpful and positive. In other words don't judge 4chan based on a bias opinionated comment of something that happened within the site.
