1,500 Year Old Byzantine Wine Complex Found #1
Wonder if there's any 1500 year bottles in there. Probably what Elon drinks at dinner.

Quote:A 1,500-year-old wine-making complex, said to have been the world's largest at the time, has been discovered in Israel, archaeologists say.

Five presses were unearthed at the huge Byzantine-era winery at Yavne, south of Tel Aviv, which is estimated to have produced two million litres a year.

After a sophisticated production process it was exported around the Mediterranean.

Those working at the site said they were surprised by its size.

There are plans to make the complex a visitor attraction once preservation work is completed.

I wonder how much a bottle would be worth if any wine survived.

Might be better off in a museum. Similar finds don't look as good they sound:

Some rich guy would definitely buy that at auction, drink the mouldy swill, and convince himself that it was good.

I am going to chug the worlds oldest wine and none of you are going to stop me.
The body exists only to verify one's own existence.

That's very impressive. Imagine being the person to find that!

Most archeologists get more information out of changes in the soil, tiny fragments of domestic refuse and stone... but it's these kinds of finds that hit the museums and become famous.
