My CompTIA A+ Instructor is clueless about Linux. #1
I spent almost an hour with my instructor explaining that what SSH is, how it works, and why Ubuntu Server on Azure doesn't have remote desktop. Even after me going over it with him 3 times, I still don't think he understands it. You guys have any clueless IT Professors or bosses?

When I was in highschool, I trolled the IT a lot. Found pictures of them drunk at nightclubs and I even gave the webserver's root password (@dm1n1str4t0r, or something) to the headmaster. Got to skip class a couple times just to assist them.

I remember you telling me about that... still makes me laugh.

I've encountered a couple of those guys/idiots. Do the world a favor and convert him to Linux.

In high school, I had a teacher for programming who litterally didn't know anything else than that language (vb.NET). She knew nothing about securing a pc/other programming languages or whatsoever. I always had to fix the projector issues and pc issues in our class because she didn't know how to solve them.

Even our system admin sucked (he was just mad I bypassed his noobie filters for FB etc...)
~~ Might be back? ~~

Thats how it goes, don't worry, when you are a teacher andonly know C++ in the future and the students know about 50+ more languages, it will be same.

That's because your Instructor seems like what I call a "text book computational user".

Such users, don't dedicate 16 hours- each and every day working on PCs, solving problematic Issues, push themselves beyond limit and strive for perfection. As a result, their knowledge Is somewhat limited compared to users like yourself.

In his defense, he's knowledgeable elsewhere. He's really hammered home cloud computing, and its pretty cool he's showed us that. However, next week will be interesting, as our textbook covers linux in the the next chapter.

Yes, I understand.

Evidently I don't know your Instructor, so my previous post was more so based on general computational users of that nature. We all have merits and demerits, that's just human nature.

Honestly, it's pretty much the same at my college and our networks security teacher basically said that doing an NMAP scan is DDoS... it's how things go these days and there's so much miss-information that's being spread due to this.
